Daily details in brief

Day 1 Arrive Ulaanbaatar. Day 2 Oct 08. Fly to Bayan Ulgii, Western Mongolia. Early morning flight to Ulgii, the capital of the Bayan-Ulgii province. The flight takes 3 and a half hours, and on arrival at the airstrip in the Ulgii a local driver will take you to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. You will watch the entertainment and overnight in tourist camp. Day 3 Eagle hunting festival. Today is the festival of Eagle hunting. The festival begins at around 10:00 am opening ceremony, introductions, Eagle Hunting history and practice. Competition event #1, Traditional Dress, Hunters display their home made traditional outfits, 100 Camels Race, Western Mongolian Archery on Horse back, Competition event #2, Eagle Call, tests hunter’s ability to ‘call’ Eagle to their horse from a distance. Day 4   Eagle hunting festival. After breakfast, Kazakh Horse Games, Bushkashi - Tug of war played on horseback with goat skin, common throughout Central Asia, Kyz Kuar - A race between a man and woman on horseback, Tiyn Teru - Riders compete to pick up coins from the ground during the race, Horse Race, Competition event #3, Fox Skin, the real test of a hunter’s ability, Eagles must catch a fox skin dragged behind their trainer’s horse. Day 5 Drive to Ulgii and return Ulaanbaatar. Up early you will be driven back to Ulgii with your guide for your return flight to Ulaanbaatar. Day 6 Depart Ulaanbaatar.
