Daily details in brief
Day 1 Arrive in Vientiane. Day 2 Free at leisure. Experience sleepy Vientiane’s sites and a traditional Lao welcome ceremony. Day 3 Transfer to Vang Vieng, where you can tube downriver and explore local caves. Day 4 Transfer to Luang Prabang. Day 5 Free at leisure. Take in a traditional royal ballet performance and bargain at the night market. Chat with a local monk and travel out to the Kuang Si Waterfalls for a swim. Day 6 Your boat journey down the Mekong brings you to the Pak Ou Cave of a Thousand Buddhas. After a picnic, continue on to your unique, tent-style ecolodge where you can fish, pan for gold, practise your archery skills and learn more about your Kamu minority hosts. Day 7 Return to Luang Prabang and take a fun elephant trek into the jungle. You can also visit the National Museum before taking some free time to wander the backstreets before your journey ends. Day 8 Depart Luang Prabang.
