Zhujiajiao“With a natural scenery of little bridges spanning bubbling streams and there are the original Ming Qing Dynasty streets”, Zhujiajiao, where market had already formed during the Song and Yuan Dynasty, was officially set up as a town during Emperor Wanli`s reign of the Ming Dynasty. It is crisscrossed by rivers and canals, with 9 long streets running along the rivers and hunderds of buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture flanking both sides. The ancient streets paved with stone slabs, deep and quiet alleyways, arched stone bridges, little creaking boats all express the beauty of water in the ancient town of Zhujiajiao.

Zhouzhuang
Zhouzhuang is a cluster of ancient towns dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, where narrow flagstones lead to shady, tranquil lanes, and bridges constructed in various styles bestraddle the rivers running though these towns. Strolling along these alleys and lanes, experiencing this unsophisticated folkway, or, from one of its bridges, enjoying the view of local-style houses that resembles a watercolor, brings the sensation of being closer to nature.

XitangXitang is famous for its large number of covered corridors, lanes and bridges. The quiet water, handsome bridges, and the reflections in the early morning and the rosy sunset, fishing boats and the glistening lights in the evening, form an amazing picture full of a sense of poetry which can only be seen in the south lower reaches of the Yangtze River. People in Xitang, whether local residents or travelers, feel that this is fairyland. They even have no idea as to whether people are wandering in the picture or the picture is moving in their hearts.
