Langtang Valley Treks

Langtang Valley Treks

On our trek we start in the lower Langtang Valley, trekking through its forests and among the villages and farmlands of its people, many of who are of Tibetan origin. Once an important trading route with Tibet, this influence is reflected in the character of the villages and peoples. During part of the trek you will be walking through National Park, and though wildlife is never easy to spot in a forest setting, there are chances of seeing some interesting animals and birds.

* The best season for this trek is half of February to First week of June and September to early December.

Note: July to August is the Monsoon period in Nepal. However, it is possible to do trekking in rain shadow area like Mustang, Rara, Dolpo, Annapurna circuit, Langtang valley, Everest base camp and Gokyo valley respectively.

Mustang with Tiji Festival

Mustang with Tiji Festival

A land covered with small villages, ancient monasteries, friendly people and breathtaking scenery. Mustang's wealth was derived from being a major trading hub on the Kali Gandaki / Thak Khola trade route between Tibet and Nepal, which reflects the rich Buddhist culture, history, laws and customs.

The Tiji Festival is a three-day ritual known as "The chasing of the Demons" and it is centred around the Tiji myth. Tiji tells the story of a deity named Dorje Jono who must battle against his demon father to save the Kingdom of Mustang from destruction. The demon father wreaks havoc on Mustang by creating a water shortage which, in this extremely arid land, is the most precious life-sustaining resource. Dorje Jono eventually defeats the demon and banishes him from the land.
